Sindhudurg district is the southern part of the greater tract known as the 'Konkan' which is historically famous for its long coast line and safe harbors.

Purnagad Fort is a fort located 25 km from Ratnagiri, in Ratnagiri district, of Maharashtra. This fort is very small but an important fort in Ratnagiri district for Kanhoji Angre's Navy that evolved as the modern Indian Navy. The Fort is spread over 22 acres and located on a northern hill on Muchkundi River.

ITINERARY

Day 01 

 Arrival at Ratnagiri , Pick up railway station . Transfer to Hotel. Breakfast. Visit Ratnagiri local Sightseeing covering Ratnadurga Fort , also called Bhagawati Fort. The fort is a main tourist attraction due to the Bhagawati Temple inside the fort.Free time to take a round around the fort wall . Proceed to Lokmanya Tilak House, Lokmanya Tilak lived for 10 years in a typical Konkani house which is situated in the Tilak Ali , in the centre of the city of Ratnagiri. Lunch at hotel. Evening visit Thibaw Palace, the Palace was built by the British in 1910 to keep the king of Burma under house arrest. The palace came into use from 1910 up to the king's death on 16th December 1916. The palace is a beautifully constructed three storied structure with sloping roofs. Evening enjoys a sunset from Mandvi Beach. Overnight stay at Ratnagiri.

Day 02

After breakfast Check out Hotel. . Proceed to Pawas, swami Swaroopanand Aashram, Swami Swarupanand took part in the freedom struggle, the non-co-operation movement against the British army. He attained a state of meditative consciousness (Samadhi) on August 15th, 1974. A beautiful temple was constructed there. Swamiji had many devotees due to supernatural service and power he was having. Darshan. Proceed to Purnagad Fort, the fort is built using the Black basalt rock and is rectangular in shape. There is a Maruti Idol at the entrance gate. On the entrance gate, Sun-Moon and Ganapati are carved in the stone. Inside the fort is a Holy Basil stand and ruins of the buildings. Proceed to Kasheli , Sri Kanakaditya Temple is one of the temples dedicated to the Sun God. The black stone idol of Sun God was brought from Prabhas Pattan Sun temple in Gujarat before 800 years. Visit Temple. Lunch. Evening enjoys a sunset from Table point devghali beach. Proceeds to Ambolgad. En route visit Adivare Mahakali Temple. Overnight stay at Adivare.

 Day 03

 After breakfast check out hotel. proceed to Vijaydurg Fort, Explore a walk through Vijaydurg Fort, the oldest fort on the Sindhudurg coast, was constructed during the regime of Raja Bhoja II of the Shilahar dynasty (construction period 1193-1205) and restructured by Chhatrapati Shivaji. Vijaydurg Fort was called the "Eastern Gibraltar”, earlier known as "Gheria". Since 2009 World Helium Day is celebrated at the Vijaydurg Fort.Take a Guided walk inside fort for 1 hr. Lunch. Proceed to Devgad. Evening experience the Zipline at Devgad beach. India’s first on coast Zipline & Maharashtra's longest Zipline. Also visit Taramumbri, Mangrove conservation centre. Overnight stay at Devgad.

Day 04

 After breakfast Check out. Proceed to Kunkeshwar, visit ancient Shiv Pancahayatan Mandir, Free time at Temple. Proceed to Mithbaw beach. Visit Famous Temple Rameshwar. Proceed to Jamdul. Hotel check in. Lunch. Visit Achara Rameshwar Temple. Explore the nature beauty, experience the mangrove safari by Wadekar Kaka. Evening free at resort. Overnight stay at Achara. 

Day 05

After breakfast check out. Proceed to Kudopi, Katalshilp sight. Proceed to Kudal. Visit Thakawadi Kalanangan, Visit Padmashri Gangavane House to explore the Konkan Culture and traditions. Dinner. Proceed to Kudal. Drop at Kudal Railway station.
